He is considered one of the best teaching guides on New York's Salmon River where he guides for salmon, trout, and steelhead using traditional fly-fishing techniques. Loren is also a very accomplished commercial, demonstrative, and creative fly dresser. His tying skills earned him selection as the first ever Fly-Fishing Team USA official fly tyer in 2005.
