This was something i wrote messing around , It came about one morning on my fishing trip to local river.
Walking slowly towards it, I can hear and smell it, the soothing noise of water rushing over rocks and around downed trees, small animals scurry through the leaves, as I approach I see swells of fast moving water, I feel calmness come over me, anticipation grows and I near the edge, looking for that perfect spot to lay my fly, as I slowly search I see it a very nice little pool produced by the large Granite rock that was placed there many, many years before. As I slowly enter the water , I feel the coolness on my legs and feel the power of the water as I move towards that perfect casting destination , finally the time is right, I tie on the selection of the day , one back cast ,then two, I gently guide the fly just up stream of the pool , now totally lost in the moment , I watch as my fly gently flow ever so slowly over that beautiful pool , waiting for the quick action of the trout that may be laying there enjoying the sunny , brisk morning . No trout, as my fly heads towards the swift current, I pull up the rod, one back cast, I lay the fly in same area again, hoping for different result, slowly the fly floats ever so gently over the pool, no action from fish today in that pool, No Disappointment, just a sense of peace and serenity in my life for those few, mere minutes of standing in the river trying to fool a weary trout.
