Hi All

Here is a great story about a project in Maine that has gone good.  Check out the link to the story.

Also check out the video of the Restoration Effort in the article.  Tried to show it here but does not work.

Very cool Lee. Artic Char  in  Maine .  I hope they can restore them back to healthy populations . Still a long road ahead of them I'm sure

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

I read this article before somewhere.  It is great to know that their is preservation like this going on.  It is sad that such a prize fishing area was almost wiped out by rainbow smelt.

F&G believe that it was with good intentions this species was introduced but ignorance prevailed.  Since the smelt they figure was inroduced as forage for the char, but they turned out to be so aggressive it competed heavily with char for food, and it was aggresive enough to wipe out each years young.
