Hi All

I want feedback from everyone on this if possible.  It has been talked about on other treads on the site about changing the Forums and adding some new areas.  So here are my thoughts and I want yours about how this should be done.

First let me say one thing, the site name Lee's Fishing Page will not change, and the main focus of this site will always be Fly Fishing.  That is not to say we can't have a few users post hunting reports and Ice Fishing reports now and then.  So to this end I have thought about what should be added to the Forum.  First I did a very obvious change that does get rid of one forum, I combined the Site Rules with New/Old User Introductions.  This was a no brainer, just moved the two posts in the Site Rules over to New/Old User Intro and locked and pinned them in the this forum.

Here are my changes that I want to make to hopefully make some of our users more at home here.

First change the "Fishing Report" forum to "Open Water Fishing Reports".  Then add a new forum "Ice Fishing Reports".

Second Change the name of "Other Fishing Discussed Here" to "Other/Ice Fishing Discussed Here".

Third create a new Category of "Hunting" and having two forums in this category.

   1.  Hunting Discussed Here

    2. Hunting Reports

Please let me know if this is what most want, if so it can be done in about an hours time later this week.

See Yah
Thanks
Lee

That'll work for me Lee.  It will provide an area where those of us that hunt and fly fish as well as ice fish can share info. Ziggy already tuned me in on the latest in broadheads which will save me a lot of research.

I believe you have a nice balance there with your suggestion/proposal.

You already have my imput Lee.

Hi All

Well I have made the changes as described above and moved the appropriate posts to the new forums.  I really think this will make life a little easier for users.  If you see anything not correct let me know so I can fix it.

I think this is a great idea!  After all most of us I am guessing are outdoorsman, rather than just fisherman.  Am I right?  They seem to go hand-in-hand.

I would like to explain my recent absence.  The holidays have kept me busy and I had some recent trips to see old friends and family in Vermont.  My computer is down, and I am currently using the wife's when it is available to me.  And this past weekend my uncle suddenly passed away.

So between the shopping, get-togethers, funeral, and the holidays themselves I will not beable to keep as clsoe an eye on the forum as I would like to.

I am currently in the process of trying some differnt material combinations for the buzzers I am tying from the swap.  I have had some good looking flies, but I'm still not certain yet.  I may however end up making them in a size 14 rather than the 16 I had previously stated.  Mostly because I was able to come up with a lot of them pretty cheap as of late and the are really great hooks as far as I can see.

I hope everyone else is enjoying the holiday season, and all that the outdoors has offer this time of year.

Theron

Thanks for the update, and may I pass condolences to you for the loss of your uncle.

Just remember this is primarily a fishing site but you hunters need some place to talk and spout off now and then.

See Yah
Thanks
Lee

You run one of my favorite sites Lee so do whatever works best for you. I use to hunt deer, ducks, geese, pheasant but stopped years ago when I started fishing all winter, hell there's always open water somewhere. Besides where would I get my feathers and fur from if people didn't hunt to fill my other passtime tying flies. Good luck with the changes.
