 Hey all,

Last night I got the reel seat, cork grip and tip top attached to the rod!  Tonight I did some test wrapping for practice!  It really is easy!  So anyway, I've ordered three colors of nylon thread and was hoping to get your opinions.  Left is "spring green" middle is "tan" and right is "gold"  I'd like to have one main color with a tipping of 3 wraps or so of a second color on the outside of this main wrap.  Let me know what you like or if you like nothing at all.  This is just bare thread, no opoxy.  If I use a color preserver I may see a slight darkening of the color.  Without color preserver the color will darken substantially.  I'm thinking if I go with spring green I would not use preserver and just go with straight finish epoxy over the top.

Thanks!

-Nic

I like maroon wraps with the gold would look great.  That's my opinion.

I like it! For me, a few winds of a dark brown, followed by a few more wraps of the gold. Very distinguished looking Smile

 Caddis,

You just had to say that! haha.  My first thought for this rod was spring green. Then when the thread came in it seemed lighter than I thought it would be.  Then when I saw the gold I really like it!  I imagine the spring green would darken to a slightly deeper green once epoxy was put on?

Either way the rod will fish just fine!  Thanks for you input!

Thinking the green would darken a bit when sealed but if you finish the rod and don't care for it send it on to me and I will dispose of it properly.Laughing Out Loud
