Can you beleive we are half way done with 2007 ? The year is flying by . Summer is almost gone even though the temps are still pretty warm. Woke up this morning it was still dark not long ago it would have been light. Yes the days are getting shorter. On the bight side the nights should be cooling down and the water temps should fall. The fish will become more agressive and all will be well for me. Some of you will put the rods away and dust off the old riffle. Soon the snow flakes will fill the sky and the smell of camps stoves will fill the air. Hot choclite will be warming up our bellies . Awe my favorite time of all Turkey in the oven and family and freind surronds the table. Football on the tube. Soon we will be looking at the Christmas tree and watching Frosty and Charliy Browns Christmas. I will start my fly tying on those cold blistery days with thoughts of spring and my next big fly fishing Adventure. Mr. Green

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Very well said Dave and my rod is already put away for the year. Bear season starts here in about 1 month.

Dave,
Great post. I love fishing but I also love the first snowfall, especially if it's at twilight and the snow is swirling all around you- a very surreal experience. Brought back a few memories.

Thanks!

Aw heck Dave
There is no need of going all mushy on us Big Grin But oh boy,
doesn't time really seem to speed up when we hit middle age.
Now I know how true the "over the hill and gaining speed" is.
It seems we don't take time for the little things any more. i.e
stop and smell the roses.....Gotta take my grandson fishing.
more while I'm still able.

Stephen

I can't help it Stephen, (Mushy) I was sitting there the other day and the thought occurred to me how fast this year was moving by. I don't no why but it seams to me they don't last as long as they used to. I guess it could be Im getting a little older but I'm not sure thats it. I think it could be work sense my job now has me bounching all around on my shifts. One week days then closes then a middle . All I know is I woke up and now we are only 130 or so days until Christmas Eek! . I am looking forward to the days cooling off though it has been an very warm summer. Bring on the snow Laughing Out Loud

Dave G

I don't envy you with 4 girls. But I am sure it will all work out for the best.

Dave V.

Get to my age (65) and the years do go by fast. I have been fishing only about 4 times this year and I sure hope to get in a little more before the year is done.
