Alright then we'll be in touch.  We will anyways because I want to ret one of your reels before the spring.

I got to thinking about salmon streamers the other night, and started messing with materials I have never used before.  I used Green Zonker strips, some maribou, flashabou, synthetic hair, and some deer hair.

I attempted some muddler like streamer variations that pretty much sucked.  One with a tungsten bullet point weighted head, and one with out.

Then I tried a streamer like contraption that I actually think will work.  But who knows?

Then I threw together two more attempts at Mickey Finns.

And well...  That was what I tried to do last night.

Thanks for checking it out.

I see you have given the spinning of deer hair a try . I only tried that once along time ago.  I want to give it a shot. I know Stephen is an expert at it . I should ask him for some advice. Looks like your getting the hang of them Mickey's. Soon you will be knocking out some Grey Ghost..

Don't hold your breath Dave.  I would hate to be responsible for your death. Laughing Out Loud

I have gotten fairly confident with nymphs of differnt varieties, but Streamers are something else entirely.  I think I want to master wet flies before jumping into the streamer category.

I tried to spin Deer hair one other time.  Here are some pics.

I made two of these up to go bass fishing with my brother.  They even made that nostalgic popping noise when stripped through the water with quick short bursts.  I was really proud of that.  Sadly no fish though.  He couldn't even catch them on a worm that night though, so I didn't feel too bad about that.

You are gaining on it faster than I've ever seen anyone who went at it. A year from now I see you doing classic salmon flies for shows. You know the ones they have in picture frames behind glass.

Keep at it!

I intend to start tying some salmon flies this weekend for our morning with Lee at the Mary meeting.  I just have to figure out what.  Lee said he likes the golden demon.

 Hi T-Bone

Rather than give you a long-winded reply, I humbly submit to you the following link.

I hope it helps with the deer hair spinning.in some little way.

You must be a gifted man with that buck hair. When I had a go of it  I distinctly heard a voice in the background saying, "Blessed are those who expect nothing for they shall not be disappointed".

It was a push broom and a scoop shovel event to clean up the mess. Roll Eyes
