Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Davie makes it look easy . I have trouble with getting the wings the right length but the more I tie them the better I get. If I go a while without tying wings I have too tie a few to get it right again. Dave V

Thanks Dave!  I'll try it out tomorrow.  My kit that came with mine uses a different material for wings though.  Maybe gray partridge breast I'm guessing.  I really wish the materials were labeled.  I had what feathers were for what and although it was fairly obvious there were some soft hackles that made me wonder and the "partridge breast" had little to offer that was small enough to make wings on the smallest size hooks provided.

I do have some duck quills though that I could certainly use instead and do it like Davie McPhail.  I have been watching his videos for months now.

Thanks again.  I'll get those blue winged olives right....   Just you wait!

Yeh he is big on just using waxed string, but personally I wouldn"t feel right with out head cement.  It is like wearing a seat belt a precaution that keep me around longer, only this keeps the fly around longer.
