First - Welcome to the site.

I think my site is a little small so you may not get much local advice. I live in southern Maine but I do fish the White Mtn's of NH a lot. I would suggest that you wet wade in Aug. and fish the small mountain streams for wild brook trout. In the Littleton area I am not sure whats there but if you travel a little east to say Twin Mnt area or Crawford Notch area of NH you will find pleanty of good water to fish. The upper Ammonusuck is very good this time of year, and the Isreal River over Jefferson Notch way is also very good. Small rod is best, 3 or 4 wt and around 7 ft. is ideal for this water and the fish you will be catching. Keep us advised as to what you are doing and if you get any good pictures please post them.
Thanks for coming

PS If you get a chance about an hour north of Littleton you can fish the Aroostock River and Little Madawaska Stream great brook trout fishing. I was stationed there in the late 80's Great area to fish. Just go to Caribou and take the Fort Fairfeild road. where the to rivers meet great fishing. Landlocks are common and brookies over 16 inches are common
This begs the question Flatlander, are you talking about Littleton NH or Littleton Maine??
NH take my advice, Maine take Dave's advice.

You know Lee I didnt even think about that. We will have to wait and see which Littleton hes talking about. I bet he's talking about NH my bad.
Hey thats ok I should have known when you said Lees area . Either way you should have a good fishing trip. enjoy
I will be visiting my non-fishing brother in Littleton next week and was hoping to get a little advise on the where's, how to's and what to bring list. I kinda figured that it was terrestrial time, but I am a flatlander from Illinois. Are there any opportunities to use the 7 weight (salmon?) in the region or am I better off gearing up for small stream Brookies? and do i need to bring waders? I've got 5 mil neo and leaky rubber hippers.... I'll be there from the 1st to the 8th of August and would really enjoy fishing with somebody from that neck of the woods if that would be possible. Reply here or e-mail me at brianclerkin@earthlink.net with any suggestions (I will check mail while there). Thanks in advance for any replies/advise!
