What did you use for the body on the first one? The second one I was wondering about the tail, and is that peacock herl on the body of number 2? And the underside, Red deer hair maybe or is that squirrel too?
Thanks man you gave me some Ideas. I have some Huge hooks right now for streamers, and didn't really know what to do. I'll try some like that and post them for all to see soon.

These are my Deer Hair streamers I just made up.
This was my first attempt....
This was my second attempt and I made two of these.
I'd love any suggestions or ideas I might be able to work with.

1st:
Tail: golden pheasant tips
Ribbing: oval silver tilsel.
Body: White Zelon, twisted and wrapped (I used this, but a white yarn, or dubbing would work fine too!)
Wing: Squirrel tail
Throat: Red hackle (wrap one wrap fully around. After tying and clipping the remaining feather, pull the hackle down so all of it is under the fly and wrap over with your thread to secure.
2nd:
Tail: Dyed Goose? I'm not sure, it's a feather I've had for ages and never found a use for. If you like the red you could equally use some red hackle tips.
Ribbing: oval silver tinsel.
Body: you had it right on, peacock herl. The one I saw was black, I tried peacock, you could dub a black body as well too, or any color you wanted.
Wing: squirrel tail
Throat: Red hackle, same as above.
You've got a good start on your flies. My only one nitpick would be that it looks like you may be clipping the tips off of the bucktai you're using as the wing? I would try and avoid that if it's the case. I've got a hair stacker, very inexpensive and helps align the tips prior to tying in the wing.

Thanks Nic! I was indeed clipping the deer hair. It seems they generally turn out a little long but get so thin towards the tip of the wing. That was why I did it. I hope these flies catch some fish I have my hopes up!
I heard somewhere that brookies like red. Any truth to that you think? If not I figured they may produce as salmon flies, as big and colorful as they are.
I used red deer hair and red pheasant tail in the tail. The bodis is black chenille, red floss and flat tinsel. the rest is red deer hair, and a black hackle. Do you think the hackle was a nice touch? I wondered about that and is there enough flash on the hook. I mean most of the deer hair and squirrel hait streamers I have seen have been like your first pic, with a very metallic body that will reflect light.

So here are some streamers I attempted. I was shown them recently, but was attempting to recreate about a week later. I'm not sure if they are the exact pattern I saw, but my memory is good, and I'm pretty sure they're close. Either way they look like they'll catch fish. These are tied on a size 12 hook, I'm hoping to use them for some small stream fishing. I think they'll work.
