Just returned from spring fishing for black salmon at Blackville on the Maine Southwest Miramichi.  Water was at a good height with a fair amount of debris going by.  Managed to boat one grilse and had another one on. My fishing buddy had a salmon on for quite a while and eventually the hook pulled when the fish ran for heavy current. Quite a few boats on the water and most seemed to be hooking a few fish. Wore my waders and duck hunting coat all day as it snowed and rained off and on all day with temps and wind pretty brisk.

Ya great job Bill . Dang I got to get up there and fish that river. Looks like fun although it looks a bit cold to. Thumbup

Lee that would be an awesome add to the help section I keep messing that up to

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

The bridge is on route 118 right in Blackville if you follow that road I think that you come out up by Quarryville. Anyway route 118 runs up the back side of the river.   Dave as for being cold all I can say that it's quite toasty when your wearing neoprene waders with 1200 grams of thinsulate in the boots and the cabelas Dry Fowl 4 in 1 waterfowl jacket.  I told Steve to dress like it was February and we should be good.

Bill

I goofed, I ment to say the Bartholomue River, does that river enter the Main Southwest near that bridge.  I think just below the bridge.  Fished there once from shore, too much ice in the river to use a boat.

Thanks

Lee

Lee,   yes your right the Bartholomew (or however you spell it) enter the Main river about 500 yards below the boat launch in Blackville.
