Thanks Stephen for the update. I don't think anyone was worried but it is nice to get an update now and then. Those sea run Brook Trout are nice fish and I hope you get into some. Have you ever tried fishing nymphs for them, dead drift with a strike indicator?? Would seem if you find a pod of fish in a run you could do real well with a stonefly nymph or even a large pheasent tail nymph.

Many sea trout are taken on black salmon flies. My favored
flies are King of the Waters, a mongrel butterfly, a large white
bug and a royal coachman dry. All in sizes 6 or 8.

You need to try some real flies a size 18 or 20 pheasent tail nymph. I caught my biggest Brook Trout ever on a 18 pheasent tail nymph. The fish was around 20 inches and 4 lbs. Those sea run Brook trout must feed on nymphs in those rivers as well as the smelt.

Hi All
It has been a few day since I have commented, so, I figured
that now is the time to get caught up. I have been busy tilling
the soil and potting up perennials. In addition I took 4 days and
spent a little time on the Miramichi. Apparently the sea run trout
have not arrived so I am now hustling so I can get back over for
another 3-4 days this week. In hopes of getting over there again tomorrow evening. That means more tilling and putting the mower deck back on the lawn tractor. The full list still seems endless..But I have all Summer to get to it. (never do today what you can put off until tomorrow) (except fishing)
Truly hope all members are well.
P.S. Dave V....I am not ignoring your posts. I have added them to my to-do list...
