I think the weather is so cold they might be hibernating. I agree Caddis I hope things pick up soon. I guess it is up to me and you to pick things up around here. I see you are looking into spey rod fishing. I have seen people use them over in Europe but not here where I live. They can get that line out some distance with them rods. I am looking into getting a bamboo rod.to fish the small streams here. If Buying a spey rod is anything like buying a bamboo rod good luck. So many to choose from. Dave V
The problem is no one around me carries them so you can't try out a bunch to see what one makes you smile. As for boo check out www.sweetgrassrods.com/ I had an Orvis 7 1/2 foot 6wt and sold it years ago. I didn't use it and used the bucks for other equipment, not sorry but if I was going to buy another I'd look hard at these.
I am here!!!!!!!!!!
Been off work since Christmas eve and getting lots done except going to the web site. Hopefully I will be able to do the upgrade soon. I will post a notice when I plan to do this so we don't get users on in the process.

Whats wrong with talking to yourself ? I do it all the time. Some times the other voices in my head talk back.
LOL Be sides Mike I am always lirking close by . Dave V
PS Caddis I know what you mean . Not many people here have Boo rods either. It would be nice to cast one before I spent the cash on one.
I was at a feller's house the other day that was selling off some fly tying gear and he builds Boo rods. Man he does some great work and his prices are really good. Said he ships world wide. As a side note we were talking about fly tying and salmon fishing and it turned out that my Great Grandfather taught this gent how to tie salmon flies!! What a small world cause we are both at the other side of the province from where my Kin originated
gabbed with the old feller for 3 1/2 hours.

Mike, years ago I had an older friend I fished with up in Pittsburg, NH and he tied flies for Orvis. He wanted to teach me to tie but all I wanted to do was fish and he gave me the flies so I figured why learn, what a mistake. He has since passed on and I did learn the basics but I could have learned so much more. Now at 57 I can't find enough info. On Tuesday nights I meet up with a group of guys that are some old friends and some new and they tie every week, good tyers too. So this week I get my new vise and will be joining them. Get back and sit with that old timer again, he must have loved having the great grandfather connection with you.
That is pretty cool Mike. Yes it is a small world at times. Caddis good to hear your getting into tying . When you join your group take a few photos and post them on site. Have fun tying. It can be addicting.
Where is everyone? Site is quiet, been tying flies myself waiting for a break in the weather as well as getting over Christmas and New Years.
