Great post David, I can't believe summer is almost over!!!

I'm with you Dave fall is the best. NH until the season closes, then down to the Cape to fish the kettle ponds, then up to NY for steelhead and big browns.
Dave
Nice post as Mike said. You know I am ready for the fall fishing. Seems like we just had spring and now we a talking about fall. Winter will come soon enough and I want to enjoy the fall this year. Keep me informed about your trip east so we can make plans to get together.

Hi Dave
If you think time is flying by now...Wait till you are 60 and really watch it go. That is when your bones will be able to forcast the weather more accurately than he weatherman. My coffee cup says " I will probably go out the way I came in: Bald, Toothless and Dribbling"...So you have a lot to look forward to...Similar to many of us you are 'over the hill and gaining speed'.....My only suggestion is to stop once in a while and enjoy the moment.

Very true my friend, we all need to slow down a little and enjoy the moments we have.

I remember that when i am shoveling 3 feet of snow this winter
Are you ready for fall fishing ? With September only a couple of weeks away I cant help but think to myself how fast our summer has gone on by. The days are getting shorter . The nights and mornings a little cooler. The apples are turning red, the grapes now purple.Even the squirrels are starting to gather the seeds I put out for them. I see them burring the peanuts all over the back yard. Can you believe how fast time goes by. When I was a little boy I remember my mom and dad talking about how the older they got time seamed to go by much faster. For the first time in my life I have come to relize what they were talking about. It sure seams like the days go by much faster the closier I get to 50. (Don't laugh) I can only think how fast it must go by for Lee and Stephen.
In a few weeks we will have our first frost. Some will pick up the old shot gun and head to the woods to try thier luck at partridge . The roar of high school football will be soon upon us. Then the pumpkins will be glowing in the windows and on the steps of homes while the sound of door bells and trick-o-treat echo in the night. A few days later the color orange will fill the north woods along with the sound of gun shots that fill the ealry morning air. For me you will find my fly rod whiping the air my favorite time of year will be here. The Brookies will be brilliant in color the Browns will be moving up stream and will change into their spawing colors. The rainbows will be egar to take any fly I thow at them. The best part is I will have the stream pretty much to myself. So are you ready for fall fishing ? I say bring it on I am ready. But please can someone slow down the days just a little I am not ready to shovel snow just yet.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
