I managed to go fishing today, Got of work last night about 11:00 PM Went to bed around 2:30 AM , Got up to go fishing 5:00 AM. Got to Pactola Lake about 6:00 AM Temps were a balmy 37 Degrees , frost covered ground . Should have payed more attention to frost more on that later. Got all geared up made the little hike to the stream. As I walked through the brush I jumped two nice White Tails . Now for the frost part I warned you about eairlier , As I approached the stream and started walking down the bank I lost my footing on the nice frost covered earth landed sqaure on my back. Thought I broke every bone in my body but I did save the fly rod so that is all that counts. I put myself back together and made a nice cast in the very high fast running water. Hooked a fish right of the bat lost him just as quick. Then it got a little tough water temp was 52 . About a 1/2 hour later I hooked and landed this nice 16 inch Rainbow. Picture didnt come out so good but I got one shot before he headed back to his holding spot. Then the wind picked up so I loaded myself back up and headed home . Might try again tommorow.

Thanks Mike and Stephen , I am glad no one saw me bust my butt. I am extreamly thankful I didnt snap my rod. Other then a little ache in the back I am doing fine. Now as for bigger fish, If I could stay on the stream a little longer before the hurricanes hit that might help my chances for a bigger fish. Seams like every time I get out there the wind ruins everything. Goes with living in open country I guess. Are you going to get out this weekend ?
