I'm off to the Miramichi in the Morning. Worked my butt off all week to get my boat ready. LED lights were too expensive, so I went with the regular ones. I get about three years out of a set before the bulb sockets get too corroded.

Have a good time Bill and let us all know what you do, take pictures and post a couple of the biggest fish.

It's a good thing that the sun was out all day, because the salmon weren't biting. Fished from 9:30 AM to 4:20 PM and never caught anything but a couple of sunk sticks. Never saw anyone else with a fish on either, it was an exceptionally slow day. Spoke to some other anglers at the launch in Doaktown and they had only caught one and had fished all day. Lots of debris in the water clouding things up. Saw lots of wildlife, a deer swam across the river below us, lots of deer everywhere, eagles, ducks, ground hogs etc. They were all out today. Believe it or not there is still a ton of snow to melt up there and people are still running snowmobiles in the woods where the packed trails still have lots of snow on them. Hopefully the ice will go out of the lakes this week as they open on 01 May.

Bill

Keep at it, they are there, you know that. Seems the river level needs to clear and start to drop to get those fish turned on. Are you going to give it another try??

My buddy and his son went to Blackville on Saturday, 26 April and landed a grilse and a 38 inch salmon, water was very dirty there as well.
