Lee, I'm looking to rent a cabin this spring somewhere around Renous, Sunny Corner, Red Bank, Sillikers. When we stay at the Griff Inn it is quite a long drive to get to Quarryville or the NW Miramichi. Plus last year we had to walk from the road 3KM's carrying our gear on a skidoo trail to get in there as the snow had yet to melt. My nephew who is a young buck at the tender age of 20 said are you taking your sleeping bag? your extra clothes? your cooler? BLah Blah Blah, My response was "NO" I'm taking my food and my beer. there are blankets at the cabin and mother nature is my cooler. And as for spare clothes I'll change in the truck on the way to the river if I have to. Where did you stay when you fished Miramichi? I'm not looking for anything more than a place to have supper and sleep. I think that there might be 4- 8 pers.

Thanks
Bill G.

Hi Bill

Bill when I fished the Miramichi I went with a group and we stayed at an outfitters on the river. The outfitter was "Upper Oxbow Outdoor Adventures", run by Debbie and Dale Norton (great people by the way). So I really don't think I can help with your request. Since all of us where non-residents we needed guides and boats for the spring fishing and Debbie did a wonderful job of setting us up. You may want to check with her (link here on the site) and see what she would charge to rent one of her cabins, they are self contained with cooking and everything else you would need. Give her a call and ask, then let me know what she had to say. You can mention my name, I am sure she will remember me and it may help get you a rent.

Lee

P.S. Bill what do you think of all the snow we have????

Hi Lee

I was looking at their website and also at red rock lodges. We probably would have a few guys to share the cost. The hard part about booking a cabin is you cannot depend on ice out being before 15 April so how could you set a date until then. As for the snow, it sucks my boat is buried and I'm not holding out much hope for it to melt before 15 April which means that I'll have to dig it out. I might send out a few emails to see what the scoop on cabins.

Thanks
BG

Let us all know how you make out with getting a cabin.
