I posted a video on a proposal to start an open pit mining operation on the mouth of Brisol Bay Alsaka. I am intrested to know what your opinion is on this subject ?

Dave

I have not watched the video yet so I will save my answer until I get a chance to see it, maybe later today.

Dave

I just watched the video and it is a hard call, but my gut says NO WAY. We will wipe out the only good salmon runs in the western US if we do it.

Dave, Open pit mining imagine how much toxic run off there will be from that in one way or another. I'm not even a member of your country and I'm totally against it. Bristol Bay, never been there but I certainly have heard and read lots about it. One of those places that is steeped in myth and legend. As long as the oil sands is going I guess that makes me a hypocrit. I know that my opinion doesn't carry any weight and I don't want to stir up any trouble but November can't come soon enough.

Here's to November Bill, Ca't wait myself. Your right open pit mining has never been any good on the enviroment. We have to go after another fuel sorce. What good is it to tap into an area to suck what they can out of the ground and when this runs out there is nothing left but a wasteland. I hope some how the American people can pull together and stop it. Elect a President who cares.
