Hello, Everyone.  I'm a new user from Erie, PA.  I've been fly fishing for just over fifty years and tying flies just as long.  I've yet to fish in Maine but hope to remedy that the last week of June 2015.  In the meantime I'll be gathering  information regarding trout and salmon waters.  I already know this will be a multiple-trip engagement given the variety of water ME has, not to mention NH and north into Canada.

I should probably also mention that I purchased One-Pfoot from Bill Franke in 2012 and have been having a lot of fun making the parts that he so enjoyed as well.  I intended to simply write am article about Akron Medalists and other "hardware store" fly tackle -- the kind of tackle I use almost exclusively -- but ran into Bill's parts during my research.  My friend at the fishing magazine never got the article but I believe we're still friends.

I look forward to following this page.  I'm sure it will help me with my trip planning.

Best regards,

Dan

Hello Dan

Good to see you post a intro.  Please keep me in mind when you are up this way so we can meet and maybe fish some.

Thanks for coming to my site.

Thanks
Lee

Will do, Lee.  The great pictures in your Small Stream forum make me think I also need to schedule a trip devoted solely to exploring the White Mountains.

Good to have you on board. Looking forward to getting to know you better and reading about your fishing adventures. Dave V

Hi Dan and welcome to the site! Hope you have a great trip to Maine in 2015. What rivers are you planning to fish?

If you get a chance, a little fishing in the White Mountains is also nice. Hope to see you sometime.

No firm plans for the rivers yet.  However, I'm considering the Rapid and Maggalloway and a few smaller rivers in the area.  I'm also thinking about the W. Br. of the Penobscot and a hike into Baxter for 3-4 days of fishing in the Russell Pond area. The latter would allow me to see a bit more of the state, which I'd also like to do.  I suspect I'll plan three or four trips and figure out the best  sequence.
