Much cooler temps have arrived in the black hills. Will be below zero in the AM . Snow is leaving us now. About 5 inches far as I can tell. The wind is blowing so my deck had about 9 inches or so. Not sure how long the cold will stay . My guess is its time to put the bamboo away and clean up my silk lines and hang them for winter. I will be spending more time at the bench. Will miss my chats with Stephen. He a way to get me through the long cold nights. Time to put another log on the fire. Cheers old friend. Miss ya

cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Hi Dave

Another day before we get the cold and it will not be as bad as you have it.  I too am done fishing with that trip to Sebago my last this year.  Have a great winter and ty many good flies these next few months.

Winter has come with vengence up here this year.......ground keeps going green then white then green then white and back to green before bed.


A fish at the end of your line is better than your hook in the tree

Has it reached -22F / -30C up there yet Travis ?

Yeah, I just drove through the Buffolo NY area just ahead of the snow, cold as hell!   Good friend was fishing in Errie and even he packed it in early, but not before landing a couple nice steelhead.

That storm looks brutal. Those folks are used to the big storms but even these folks have to be a bit shaken
