Hi All

Fished the South River today in Effingham NH and caught my first fish of the season.  I do believe all the fish I caught were wild, which really surprised me in this section of river.  I fished a few holes with no takes then got this fish to strike.

Here is the hole he was in.

I did manage about 8 other trout (Brook Trout) between 2 to 5 inches long and that seemed to be wild.  This really has me puzzled.

See Yah
Thanks
Lee

Nicely done Lee. Could the Brookies be hold overs ?

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Not likely Dave, the river gets extremely low and warm in the summer, I think the wild fish are coming up from below because of the high water this spring.

See Yah

Intresting . You would think during the high water these fish would find a pocket and hunker down not move up . Although I have seen Browns trying to go over a damn here like a migrating salmon. For what reason other then to spawn I guess. Either way you caught fish and that is always a good thing .
