Nice report Stephen. I am glad to hear that your still getting out on the water. Even though you guy's didn't hook up it sounds like a wonderful time. You had time to enjoy the finer things in life.
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
Last Sunday (August 18th) my fishing buddy Greg, Grandson Travis an I departed a bit before 6 AM'
After an hours drive we were at the Dungarvin River
This is my king of a pool...No hiking in or out. Greg and Travis decided ro walk upriver a bit to the mouth
of Bamford brook....There was already one lad fishing he pool at the bridge...I did not mind as it
gave me someone to talk at....I may have talked at hin too much as before long he decided it was time
he went for breakfast... I made the occasional pass through the pool with a small assortment of wet
and drt flies...The rest of the time was spent sitting on a rock drinking coffee and enjoying the outdoors.
Greg and Travis returned and reported that Bamford pool has pretty well filled in and there was not much
of a pool left
Travis made a few passes at the bridge pool...As he is used to fishing larger water he has difficulties in
keeping his fly out of the bushes on the other side.
As there was still plenty of day left we proceeded onward to the renous river..We talked with a few anglers there
and all had negative reports about the fishing...Therefore, onward again to Harris brook pool on the Lit.tle
Southwest Miramichi...The water was a bit too high for my liking, so relaxed in the shade on the high bank and watched
Greg and Travis brave the current...Unfortunately they returned empty handed..As we were now a 2 hour drive from hone.
we called it a day..
No fish, but a great relaxing day
Happy Fishing and Tying
