I have never inserted a video code before so bare with me Lee. LOL.
I think I like this way better. It seems to me the other way although easier and a bit faster would leave you with a stiff inch or so in your line. Maybe it doesn't really matter, but this one appeals to me more.

Dave and Theron, great video's for two different ways of doing this. I like loop to loop connections for may leader to flyline. Now that I am using one of Keith's ferruled leaders these are all you need.

I started hand turning monofilament and fluro furled leaders not too long ago. They are are pretty rough at this point but I haven't really had time to perfect it yet.
I want to pick up some odds and ends to be able to weld the loops in fly line as well. Nail knots just aren't easy to do, even with the tools, and since I do them so rarely I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Plus the loop to loop connections seem to pass through the last rod eye much easier than the nail knot, when you accidentally strip too much line.

Hey Lee, how you liking those furled leaders?
This is how I put a loop in my backing, this lets me change out line very easily and is super strong. I use an old high E-string from a guitar for threading. Once you do this one or two times it becomes very quick and easy.
I have been using the braided leader system for years now . Except when fishing my boo. The loop system is a great invention. Instead of buying the slide on braided loop with shrink tube I am going to try these methods. I am going to try the furled leaders instead of braided . Thanks for another idea Keith
