I would like nothing better than to break a bottle with you. Just a couple of Old Timers chatting, and laughing like hell at the young uns doing the same stuff we did in our younger years. Onliest thing, now, we know better Big Grin  They'll lean. We did.Mr. Green

Another old acquaintance of mine set it into priorities. And his number one rule is; I must be comfortable. Somehow, freezing one's nads off in icy water with an invisible fly in an attempt to catch anything but bait for a REAL fish would seem to circumvent any comfort, or, sanity for that matter Laughing Out Loud

If nothing else, this is a fun threadMr. Quiggly

Well then my job here is done...oh wait...no there is still that serving of crow that needs to be prepared and servedBig Grin

Since this oldtimer does not much mind the cold, and finds any day of fishing better than a day at work (including working on the honey-do list) I plan to be out there all year long  (fine bourbon in the hip flask of course).

Ahhh, Chef Keith, y'all might want to hold off on the crow festival. The deal was, the catching of fish, NOT the catching of forum readers Big Grin

If Stephen and I have it figgered right ( we're not always right, howsomever, we're very seldom wrong Mr. Green) , you guys will need macro lenses to film the  fish on them no see ums flies Laughing Out Loud

I found this quote taped to the inside cover of my Fisheries act and regulations

one morning when I returned to the office:

It is useless for the sheep to pass a resolution for vegetarioriism

while the wolf remains of a different nature

                                                              --unknown english churchman

Could this quote be applied in this case?

Old Goat No 1 here Big Grin  Many a year ago I was dining in some of the finer restaurants in Chicago while displaying my wares at the IMTS show.

As luck would have it I chanced upon an eatery that featured Nuvell Cuisine. I have always been a sucker for what I have not encountered before as I always felt this to be a learning experience.

Nuvell in a word, is a greatly reduced portions of food at a greatly inflated price. For the normal man who enjoys a thick sirloin and a couple of baked potatoes, a bottle of good wine, a fine after dinner cognac, and a Cuban Havana, the French offering was enough to make a grown man cry - AND STARVE!

And so it is, much later in life, and now you young upstarts are offering Nuvell flies to sophisticated trout and expecting what? Perhaps, there are one or two who, like I have done in the past, will partake just for the curiosity of it.  And as I, they will spit it out and say; "Is this your idea of a sick joke?" Eek!

Far be it from this old goat to piss in anybodys corn flakes, but I am starting to wonder if the diminishing ozone layer is causing a reduction of life giving oxygen in some locations  LMFAO Laughing Out LoudLaughing Out LoudLaughing Out Loud
