I was aproached by a buddy of mine at work the other day. He wanted to know if I would be intrested in building a rod. I think it would be a great idea. Have any of you built your own rod ? I know Greatbay (Dave G ) has but I wonder if any of you had done this before ? Hey Dave G do you sell your blanks ?

Dave

I did a 4 piece pack rod (7ft 5wt) many years ago. It was a kit made by Bill Franke called Timberline rods. It really needs some work to be good again and if Bill gets well enough I want him to re-build it for me.

I think it would be cool to make my own rod. Thinking of catching a fish on a fly I tied or a rod I built would be awesome

Hmm I will have to see what rod he wants to build first.
