Fished about 1.75 miles of the Wildcat River this morning, couldn't buy a bite.  Switched back and forth between wet/nymph patterns and EHC.  No trout, no chubs, no nothing.  Was on the water from 8-11AM.   Most of the trip was on water that I haven't fished before, but also fished about .25 miles of water I have had great success with and same results.

Long drive and walk for those results, thats for sure.  Looks like the leaf hatch is about to go off, so this may put an end to my fall trout fishing until the rivers in S. NH get stocked mid-October.

Gorgeous day though, views of the mountains from the road and river were spectacular.

I'm sure it was relatively low, but still plenty of moving water.  And as you know, there are several beautiful pools that have 3+ feet that appeared to be completely devoid of fish.  I guess thats why they don't call it "Catching" 

I couldn't believe the size of the log jam about half way up from Irene, yet the majority of the river looked untouched.
