I was just re-reading Dave's best fishing memory and I decided to pull out my 2007 journal and see what struck me.
It was a tough choice between me falling into the isinglas river up to my chest after slipping off the mud bank Eek!
or
Teaching my 11 year old daughter how to fly fish, and her catching her first striper the same day.
Her catching that fish was the highlight of this year so far, to see her smile and know that my little marine biologist is now hooked on fishing. Big Grin
No greater joy in the world.

What's your favorite memory from 2007.

I have to say that my favorite moment of 2007 was the evening I had on the Saco in North Conway late spring. A hatch of spinners came off that was proliffic and the fish were rising all around me, some as close as 4 feet away. I managed to hook one good fish that night that I never saw but know it was a good fish. All in all a very nice evening on the river as I must have caught at least 20 fish that night. Brook trout, Rainbows and Browns, doesn't get much better. As usual no camera that night so no pictures. I have to get out more next year and learn some new places, the Andro and the Magallaway as well as get back to the Rapid River, the river I love the most.

Just my two cents.

Lee

I did not do much fishing in 2007, so selection of a fishing moment
is not difficult. I knew when one of the site members was going to
be fishing the Miramichi in late July. So after supper I loaded the grandson into the little car and headed across the Province.
Arrived at the mouth of the Renous River and spotted several
people warming the rocks on the beach. Walked down the beach to their location(further than it looked) . After the preliminaries of weather
and conditions, I asked if anyone was there named "Mike" One lad
looked up and said "Stephen?" . He stood up and we shook hands.
That put an end to his fishing, as we then talked till darkness and the no-seeums overtook us.
It was a brief introduction but if the salmon gods are willing we will
get the opportunity to fish a pool or two together next season.

I Have to wait until after work to get this one done. Lots of thinking to do.

Ok Let me see what is my fishing magic moment of 2007. There are quite a few but I'll pick out the best. first I must start with my fishing trips to the Bighorns . I got to fish for cutt throats with my wife and one of my buds from work. Both outtings were a blast. Then I must include my fishing trip with my nephew to rapid creek, His first time with a fly rod and to watch his first hook up with a nice brown and then rainbow. Then I must include my family vacation to yellowstone. To teach my unlce and stepdad to fly fish while a nice elk came down to watch the action. I had time this year to fish rapid creek a few times and I got lucky and landed several nice fish. One of the best things that I got to enjoy in 07 is a couple of fly fishing sites both new and lots of fun for me. I now have new freinds from Canada and New England. All filled with Knowledge and Freindship ready to share with me at any time.. Heres to 07 and lets get ready for 08. I hope to meet more freinds on these sites and maybe one day get to meet and fish with these kind folks. One word advice watch where you leave your fly rods. Mr. Green Thanks to all of you Dave V
