Surface temp in the ponds we're fishing is 77.4 degrees but the fish are from 5 to 48 feet deep with no concentration in the water column. In fact we're catching them on Type II sinking line and one color out of leadcore. The Pemi is fishing well as well as the beaver bogs/ponds. The brook is getting low though. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow so that should bring it back up to snuff. Maybe you and yours ought to pack up and move back here Brother. We'd love to have ya
That's Cheyenne country, perhaps they can interceed and get those rains going again.
I know around here the water levels are starting to drop pretty fast but for the most part the water temps are staying down. The trout seem to only be active at night and early morning in the more shaded parts of the rivers and ponds. I'm hoping we get some rain with the predicted thunderboomers for Sunday.

Not a pretty picture Dave. We are going to get a break this wednesday. Hope all turns out OK and that the temp come down.

Yeah it sounds pretty scary. Nature is such a powerful force. We are seeing more and more drastic weather as years go on, and I suspect in another hundred years the world will be very differnet. And not necesarily as a result of the human impact.
Yes it just plain sucks they have already change the forecast for Thur 102 Fri 102 Sat 100 today 100 . Down in Houston they are sumerged under water . Sure would love some of that rain . Not that much but some. Guess its getting close to that time to do my rain dance .

I'm with Lee on that one Dave. Last time you did that rain dance shit I had to hire a freakin Kabota to get the wood out below. It rained for some 3 months straight.
I know you need the rain but keep it the other side of the big river if you would Buddy
I will do my best guys I promise . But its that crook in my neck that always seams to send rain elsewhere . What to do what to do .
Reports out of the hills that with the triple digit temps fish are starting to die off in spring creek . Reports of several trout floating in the stream and pools . This has to be the driest and hottest spring and summer I have witnessed sense being here in the Dakotas. First with the reports that we are up to 4 MT Lions killed by F&G over the last couple of months close to town and now reports of fishing dying off. Things are getting bad in a hurry. We set fence post today and we went 4 feet down and the ground was bone dry. I can't imagine what Aug will do.
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
