No picture of that monster?? Sounds like you had fun. Skating the fly is a great way to get fish to strike. I have used it on the Rapid and the Salmon go crazy when you do it.

Don't get me going Lee, I'm kicking myself for not having a camera with me. It was an unplanned trip and my camera was at home
I may go back again this weekend with the camera and see if I can catch that big boy again.

Well now! If you go there Sunday morning, you might just catch me there..........
I hate it when I leave my camera home. Well good luck this weekend . Hope to see lot's of photos.
Well Mark we'll just have to see about that.... perhaps a side trip before Sunday diner is in order.

Just real quick report because I just need to share this one:
I was doing the good son duty yesterday and bringing my Mom to a couple of Drs appointments, we finished up later than planned so I really did not feel like heading back to work.
I stopped by a spot on the Souhegan that Mark and I had had a bit of luck on earlier, I just wanted to see if the fish were holding over there now that the water is warming. I spotted a few small rises so I tied on ths same dry that was working before. I got a few takes but they were just barely sipping the fly and the whole pool was in full sun so they just were not that active.
I put one more cast into the tail of a deep pool and just as I started to strip it back; BAM! I was using my 3wt with a 6x tippet so I played it out carefully and was rewarded with a nice 20"+ rainbow. This was obviously one of the big fish Mark and I saw jumping that day that we just could not get to due to the high water. My guess is that the deep pool is a holdover spot and because of it's location (steep bank with no access and no easy water access) the fish do not see much preasure there. I may head back with the float tube to see what else lurks along that inaccessable streach.
