Sorry dave not intended ... i wish i worked at least 40 hours a week at this point,  fishing is fun and helps with the stress level.

I am in a difficult position for work, i could go out and get a job anytime but going threw the process and getting hired, working for  a few weeks then getting called back from the union doesn't work out so well .If my hall calls i pretty much have to drop everything and goto work. could be tomorrow could be 3 more months . Its hard to approach and employer when you have to tell them up front this is temporary , just tough out there . luckly i work enough threwout the year even though its 6 - 8 months i make my money for the year,  all overtime 60-70 hour weeks 3-4 months straight ,  i try to do side work and have small welding business but don't push that too much . i just pack my whole year of work into 6 months or so and fish and hunt and other stuff outdoors all cheap stuff LOL , have to live that way cause i never know when the work will come . This life style is not what i had planned and is really making it hard for me to aquire my own land and house which is my goal . sooner or later i think we can make something work..... fall is looking good into winter this year for work  so ... you may see a few more posts about fishing from me Smile

i am actually looking to leave the area and goto maryland at end of month if it works out you will not see or hear from me for 2-4 months you guys will have to keep the pics posted so i can check in and see how you are all doing i will know in a week or so if i am headed . HA HA another reason why i am fishing as much as possible right now i may not touch my fly rods until sept when i return ......

Shh LOl this was the hot fly for the last couple of days i think its a WD-40 and small size 20, it amazes me they can even see this , i have hard time tying it on . i used this as a dropper under a woolybugger , if there was a fish any where near it they had intrest i hooked far more then i landed and guys were wondering what i was doing , ha i figured them out its fun took me about 8 hours of fishing to finally remeber what i caught some on in years past, small black flies this size work awesome as well . Fuuniest thing is i would say i am just throwning leech pattern just like you, hold it up and they could see my bugger but not the dropper hard to see for 15 feet away Smile so the secret stayed and i was having some good action it was like 3 hook ups to one for a while , standing 10-15 feet apart from each other was a blast . Of course i may have told  them before i left , don't think they belived me Smile ha ha , But perhaps a few that may think outside the box may have some success such as i had . I love leraning about fishing while on the water ,its the only way to catch fish regular basis when they are not biting its fun to throw everything you got at them until they decide they have to have it. thats how i find new flies that produce and tie up some crazy flies that sometimes actually catch fish . so never give up and try all you can think of while there . my min is 2 hours of fishing before i give up on a spot espically if i know it holds fish . Like i always say it only takes one to catch the fish of a lifetime , or a few min for the conditions to change , i have fished 3 hours not a bite a small cloud cover slips in and gets a little windy and have caught 15 fish in the next 2 hours those are the best days work and reward Smile

Like Lee says and I agree small flies catch big fish. Pretty cool Zig got to love it when a plan comes together.

Sorry to hear about your work schedule. That's pretty hard I am sure. I find myself very lucky i have that check coming from Uncle SAM for the years of service . Thank God for that because I surely couldn't make it in home improvement. I guess I could but I wouldn't own a fly rod . Hoping things pick up for you. Meanwhile keep the pictures coming and enjoy the fishing as much as you can. Dave V

Wow, that's early for the small fly trick. That usually happens late July into August. But then, the water is low.  Pile em up Ziggy, there's more where they came from Big Grin
