Went out for a ride today to look at the changing leaves. I took my dog along and stopped by our old stomping grounds to see if there was any water left in spring creek. This stream before the drought was one of the best I ever fished. When I drove down the dirt road to get the water it soon appeared the water was almost completely gone. I knew of a few deep holes on the stream so me and the dog started hiking up stream to take a look and to see if we could find water. After about a mile or so we came apon a person fly fishing one of the few spots that held water a deep hole about 10 feet or so. I approached the older gentelman and asked how he was doing. To my surprise he told me he had caught a 20 inch brown and a 15 inch rainbow. I almost fell over. I couldnt belive any fish survied the drought. I mean there was hardly any water running at all. The pool of water he was fishing was 10 feet or so but half the depth and size it was 10 years ago. I have to say nature contiues to amaze me. I will say if this winter dosent produce large amounts of snow. Even this hole will disapear along with the few monsters that still survive in the deep hole. For now its still nice to know some fish are still in my old stomping grounds. Dave V

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
