ha ha i was just excited to even get the offer i have no idea what it is he said 8 pc ? that makes me wonder . was that common back in the 50s? i am not sure if i wuld use it ? maybe try just to try it but prob have as a collector piece i love old stuff and hope to have a house full of antiques once i get a house to put them in LOL. once i get it probnext week i will post some pics he said it needs have work on it? will see it and have better idea soon . Its was my wifes father who has it and just out of the blue offered to give it to me .

I've seen 4 pc rods from that era but never an 8 pc. Don't mean it's not 8 but I think it would be a historic marvel, a cane pack rod!
I sold an Ibotson of that vintage for a guy in town. It was a 5 weight 9 footer. Man was that sucker heavy. And the action was slooooooooooooooow. You could down a cup of coffe in the time it took the rod to load.
But some guys like em just that way. I'm to antsy for that speed myself.
As soon as you get your crab crackers on it we'll see if we can get an ID and a history on it. Hell, it could be a $200,000 heirloom!
A rod like that should never be touched...No rewinding or polishing....
just hang it on the wall and stand back and admire it.

May be getting an old 1955-56' bamboo fly rod its got alot of pieces i think and is offered to me for free. it was said it need some TLC so maybe a rebuild on the bamboo is in order . i will fill ya all in when i pick it up and get to look at it could be my next project
