Well decided to go fishing today to the brooks and streams around the house i fished this morning with very little luck. i took a break met up with a friend and his daughter and my wife and we all went geocaching for a bit . got home had lunch and decided about 3 i would goto a small pond that holds rainbows figured i could cast off the beach and maybe get some get them there ice fishing why not open water , i started at the bridge that crosses road tried a bunch of stuff decided to go with one of my woolybuggers and casted let it swing in the pool and felt a hit i thought then i started 2nd guessing myself i decided it may have been a rock and i fished on i changed up to a small streamer and 2nd cast i was on a fat bow it was sweet the 3wt handled it great was nice fight took me a bit didn't want to break it off but the bend in the rod was awesome i measured and took couple good pics just under 16 . Not bad for my 1st fish on my new rod , i fished that spot for another hour nothing doing took a walk towards the pond and found another good pool this time i tried a diffrent streamer bronze mallard i think and it wasn't long i was on my 2nd fat bow this one got areial 2 times was sweet ..., fished for another hour decided to call it a night what a night and 1st sucessful trip for my new rod heres some pics enjoy Smile ....

 You did good there Buddy! Don't believe the Fishcops have stocked yet so those have to be hold overs, or, natives? Ya gotta love those 3 wt and under rods, just puts a whole lot of fun in fly fishing.Big Grin

Guessing these are holdovers the pond is not far from where i was fishing i am sure its only gonna get better .... See you in the morn then i can add some style to my new rod and spice up the pics some Smile

On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,

Hillsborough All sections EBT Jan 1 through Labor Day Single barbless hook, artificial lures/flies Catch-and-release Managed for wild trout

This is the regs for the place i fished catch and release only single barbless, wild fish HMMMM wonder if those rainbows grew up there ? Or maybe its for the wild brookies.. either way pretty cool .
