Quote by: Ziggyzwell i couldn't resist the chance to get on the water with my new rod i went to 2 places 1st one was beautiful with some great looking pools but didn't even have a sniff, spent about 2 hours getting use to the new rod . I am enjoying it tremendously, casts smooth and feels great in the hand . the 2nd spot was a little better but still no fish landed, i did have 2 come up for the fly but not very agressivley, then before i left that pool i set the hook on one but came off just as quickly . was great couple of short trips to break in the new rod LOL ... everything was good, i plan on going back to the 2nd spot tomorrow if we don't get too much rain .. see how it goes, a bit later or in the morn i will post up some pics of the areas i fished .
Sweet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way to go young Man. I want to see that rod in action this summer up on one of the mountain streams I fish. We need to get together and fish one of the best in the mountains. Please pictures if you have some.

Good stuff
Oht Oh! Are you a RHW Ziggy? If so, I'm gonna have to flip your reel around.
Looks like a ringer for the Needle Shop Brook
I was just going to ask you about that brook. I was studing the topo near Hill and stumbled upon it. I think Zig and I ought to wet a line on our trip up to see you. Would you be interested? And would the needle shop be a good choice?
I can't wait to wet a line, and I'm anxious to get your flies to you. Cannot wait!!!!

The Needle Shop is not a top producer of fish, more minnows than anything else in it. At one time I think the fish cops threw a few brookies over the edge from the road but the local kids have pounded it hard with bait.
Most of the waters around here are put and take. Smith River has some redident brookies but even they really don't get active until late April. Same can be said for the Pemi in Bristol.
We're all itchin to get back on the water but it's just a tad early IMHO

I thought you were a LHW. It threw me a curve when I saw that RHW reel on the rod
