First

David I moved this to the News Items because this is news that we all should know.  Thank you (as always) very much for posting this.

Second

I am thinking we as a group need to donate something to this project.  So here is my idea.  We take the flies we have tyed for the fly swap and donate them to a New England chapter of PHWFF.  To be honest I don't think I am going to be able to complete my 24 flies by the due date and what I do complete will be just fine for the project.

Please Please give me some feed back on this, I really would like Lee's Fishing Page to be a leader in helping this cause.

After some discussion on this we can work out the details if need be.

See Yah
Thanks
Lee

Thanks Lee. I think it would be great to help out. I would like to see what the rest of the folks here would like to do. I have to say Lee I will be scrambling to meet the deadline myself. I have been waiting for all my hackle to get here .Been on back order for some time now. I have a back up plan though. I might be tying emergers instead . I know they are fish catching fly .  Just seams the bigger fish don't have a chance at the fly because the little guy's attack it like they haven't eaten before. I am on a little mini vacation starting today . Use or lose  type thing.  I have been donating to this cause for a couple years now.  Mainly though Orvis. I would much rather this site get the credit. I bought a T-shirt and some of the money went to the project. I have also sent a check directly to them. I think it would be cool if we could sponsor a vet as a group. I know money is tight for allot of folks so maybe we can come up with something together . Can't wait to hear some ideas   Dave V  .

Barry, AKA Scud Dog from Clark's got me involved with Healing Waters 5 years ago.  It is a nobel cause and one that makes a man feel good when he is a part of it.  Count me in whatever you guys see fit to do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one sucking hind tit on the fly swap. Mine are still hatching.  Oh I got a start on em, then this %^$#&*@  miserable busted leg just knocked me all out of kilter.  I'm just about ready to light up the Husquvarna and cut this friggen cast off and use the crutches to stake out a couple of bird feeders.

Well I just saw this thread thanks for bumping it.  I honestly am a little disappointed not to get some cool flies from each of you or to hear your feedback about how mine might potentially fish,  but on the other hand I would be thrilled to participate in this program somehow.  So if we decide to I'm in.

I know the fly swap was your idea and I think we can do both.  Let say we all tie 16 flies and donate 8 from each of us and swap the other 8.  So I think we still send 16 flies to Theron with a postage paid back envelope, Theron divies them up and makes one batch be 8 from each of us to donate.  I can work out the details about were to send them and the cost to do this.  Let ask and I will get back with what we can do.

By all means, others with any other ideas please pipe up and let you idea be known.

See Yah
Thanks

Hay guys here is the letter I wrote to Marcus Cohn about doing a donation to PHWFF.

Hi Marcus

I am the site admin for “Lee’s Fishing Page” a web site for fly fisherman.  We are having a fly swap and after David (One of out members) posted a video about Project Healing Waters I got the idea we should donate half of the flies to PHWFF.  Can you send to me any information that I need to do this??  We are small but want to help if we can, and this seems like the nicest gift we can give to the great veterans we have working and fighting for this country of ours.  Please respond to this e-mail lee@loonsecho.net or better yet go to our web site and become a member and let us all know what you think of our idea.
If you come to the site you will need to register, it’s free, to see the forums and most of the site content.  Introduce yourself in the “New/Old User Introductions” forum and then I give full access to the forum.

We as a group look forward to hearing from you and what we need to do to make this donation come true.

Thanks

Lee Goldsmith

Lets see what happens from this.

See Yah
Thanks
Lee

Good idea Lee. Can't wait for the response. T-Bone I plan on sending everybody some flies plus a few for the Project Healing Water project. Soon as the hackle gets here I will jump right in and get them out to you. I am not the greatest fly tier by all means but I am hoping you will be able to fish them and catch a few fish. That would be very rewarding to me. Dave V
