Hi Folks!

I have been asked to teach a fly tying course by T-Bone and Ziggy.  I have taught many courses but for these guys I am coming out of retirement and will again offer a course.

The fly tying course is to be held on Thursday evening’s beginning on Feb 2nd at my home shop in Sharon, VT.  It will be 5 weeks total for $100.00.  I am looking at a beginner’s course but have tailored the course to accommodate advanced fly tiers so as to fit with the others many times.

I am NOT now stocking supplies for sale.   This is an instructional course only though I am sure I have plenty of stuff here to cover any single night’s trying.  Hence I will spend our time teaching and not hawking product.

I will be here on Thursdays all day.  The class will start when you show up no earlier than 5:00PM and conclude at 10PM.  Some people have different schedules and distances so this should help those who travel get a solid 1+ lesson though you can be here the entire time.   For years I paid $20.00 per ½ hr guitar lesson from a pro and it was well worth it!  The price of my course is a steal.

PM me here and provide your E-mail address so I can work out the details with you and provide directions.

Thanks Lee for allowing me to post this!

Sincerely

Bob Skowronski

I have ben very excited about this but I'm not sure it will work out.  Ziggy and I discussed travel concerns and he thinks it maybe too much driving, and as it looks my work schedule is probably going to get very hectic now that one of my co-workers is having surgery and going to be out of work for a bit.

It really pains me to be in this situation as I have been waitin for this for so long. BUt I will have to decline this time around at least and see if I can get a rain check.

What a great deal. I paid that for one day and only learned to tie streamers, Kype is giving you up to 50 hours of hands on classes. I wish it was closer I have a buddy that this would be just perfect for. You guys who jumped in on this keep us informed as to how your doing, post a pic from time to time. Enjoy your class

What an awesome deal. Steal for sure.  Wish I was 2200 miles closer .Always good to learn new tying methods. Like how to tie them wings on the leadwing. Also how do you judge how much hair to use when tying in hair wings.  I am always messing that up.  I would jump on this class in a NY second if I lived closer

If you weren't two hours away I'd be ll over it. Perhaps you should consider video taping your sessions. You could sell them!

Well if you guys were closer it would be nice to work with you.

When ever I teach a course I try to keep it low key and spare everyone the razzle dazzle I so often see associated with fly tying classes in which product is pushed and people blow a wad of money.  I do insist on performance and dedication to the lessons.  If you don't do the homework I would rather you not come to class.

When I stocked product I did move stuff but it is a distraction from the fly tying.  When there is a group of guys it can be fun and with everyone chipping in their few bucks it makes it worth while for me.  Five guys, basically $20.00 each per evening $500 for teaching something I enjoy with fellow fisherman seems reasonable.  I was never big into money and I do not like the elitist, exclusive BS in fly fishing so I offer lessons at working class guys prices.  I want to see everyone able to participate in the sport.   Two nationally known outdoor writers / fly fishing authors have taken my classes,  I realize that I have a good handle on fly tying and if I wanted to learn........... I would want to take classes from me.  If I were a slick greedy SOB I might have made money at this but it just isn't me.

I have only offered it here.  If people can't make it all the better I can kick back and enjoy the winter do up the fly orders I have, play music and call fox.

Sounds like work and then I would have to advertise it and before you know it I'll be as much a part of the FF BS'ers as the guys I dislike!   I am too old and cantankerous to fit in with that bunch.  I just want to go fishing.  I really don't care about money; I don't even check my pay stub to see if I was paid correctly!  I'm not a fan of Capitalism.
