Have any of you ever heard of using hair spray to help your flies float. I have also heard that scothgaurd works well also. Looking for your input



Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

I have never used hair spay or ScotchGuard but sounds like it should work.

I have never used them but I thought about giving it a try. Mike I thought gink sinks your fly or am I thinking of something else ? Big Grin

There are different Gink products Dave Floating, sinking, line cleaner...etc
Be careful pulling that can of hairspray out of your vest when there is someone else around... Mr. Green ...you know how people talk big fella Eek!

I use Gerkes gink to float my flies but read recently that Scotchguard
does wonders for a bomber..I will invest in a can soon and test it. I
will post the results. I would try hair spray, but as I smoke, I can
picture my dry fly being subjected to a flame thrower....Quite apt to
scortch the hackle a little. Big Grin
