Global warming has not been kind to our trout populations. Those of us who do a lot of striper fishing have seen the season extended because of it. Of course that's not doing much for you folks that live hundreds of miles from the ocean.
I have been watching the weather in that area it has gotten in the high 20's for lows so maybe that will help lower the water tepms but on the other hand they are calling for records highs all week. On the bright side the days are getting shorter so the highs won't be so long though out the day
Here's hoping you get your trip in, would be a shame if you mis out because of the weather.

Thanks Lee , I am making some calls to check out other possiblities. Maybe I fish the Snake River for giant cutts
Hi Dave
May be time for a more prolonged rain dance..It seems the last time you had a few light showers....And on a more serious note...Smoke in the air is not a good sign at the best of times.
Stephen
Nope smoke is not good
Havent seen any smoke reports lately, Looks like it has cooled down a great deal there. Still looks like 80 in lower elevations 70 in higher. Lows in the 30's all restrictions lifted on the fishing side of the house. 1 more week fellows
Sounds good, hope all goes well for you on the trip.
Lee
Thanks Lee
Just talked to my local flyshop was told that the Yellowstone river in the park has been closed to flyfishing do to unusally warm weather and water temps.
I am not sure if I will get to fish it with my folks during our trip at the end of the month
I have been planning this trip for a entire year. I can only pray that they will get lots of cold rain and lower temps in the next couple of weeks.
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
