Having not flown in about 35 years I can't say.

Dave check with the airline some let you carry a rod in as carry on as long as it is under a certain length. What I was surprised is they want you to bring flies as carry on not in stowed luggage. That was Delta but I've heard some real horror stories lately on other airlines. Me I would ship the good stuff to a friend or family member and insure it that way it's there before you are. Good luck and have a great vacation.

I'm with Lee on this one, my flyin days are behind me. That's why I didn't respond earlier.
Next time this Green Beret flies it will be because the sobs are invading American soil, in which case you guys better hope I didn't lose it and can still command a gunship. I keep in touch with my former Commanding Officer. Let me just say, we're a little nervous with the notice of 20,000 surface to air heat seekers missing from one of our depots in Libya.
I got your back Buddy, fly safe.
I probably should have posted this a few weeks ago but as always I am a day late a dollar short. OK here is my question . Have any of you flown as of late ? Traveling with fly fishing equipment ? Did you have any trouble with flies , waders , rod & reel ? i worry about them making me put everything in the belly of the aircraft. Was wondering how many of you have experienced it and what your opinion is ?
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
