I would like hear your opinion on the Pebble Mine Project. Especially you Koda sense you have been to Alaska .  You might have to turn down the audio on this video it is somewhat loud.

That is BS!  I hope that the operation is cleaned up or suspended.  Before irreparable damage is done to the environment.

This is ridiculous.  Reminds me of the some of the atrocities that have happened here on the east coast all along Appalachia.  When I was in college I was always the dork at the library.  Anyway I read many of the scientific magazines and journals.  You wouldn't believe the stuff that "accidental" breaches holding pools with Mountain top mining in Virginia and the entire east coast.  Forget the fact that they literally remove entire mountains, but when (and it is definitely a WHEN and not an IF) those holding pools of toxic chemicals breaches, guess where it goes?  Into pristine brook trout water, literally eliminating entire local populations of brook trout that probably will never be seen again.

If only the American Public knew, or I should say cared about the TRUE cost of the things we buy....

It's amazing what the all mighty dollar will do. At the great cost to the environment.  Folks turn the cheek to put food on the table . Can't blame them in a way. But for these big companies to go in a destroy everything in their path to make profit at no cost  something needs to be done.  Like what they are trying to do in Colorado and some parks of New York. This fracture mining. Oh it's safe to the environment so the big company said ..  OK lets drive down a pipe way down in mother earth . Lets pump in some toxic chemicals to loosen the rock. Lets put a high pressure nozzle down there and fracture the rock releasing oil or methane or what ever they want to bring up to the surface.  Now them chemicals are safely tucked away down in mother earth  just yards away from the watershed and trophy trout waters. I guess they will never learn . Thank God for TU . They have at least slowed the MOFO's from drilling at will.  Maybe Alaska will  shed the light on future projects . Ya Right like off shore drilling in the Gulf . I guess the big leak didnt slow down BP there at it all over again.

Dave

That's why when it comes time to vote and we have the scribbler in hand it's not a good idea to check anything off that is of the elephant party.  Big business is destroying our life style, our economy, and our environment. That facet of the Fed is nothing more than puppets for big business.

Somehow, with those cats, "The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many" which of course is bass ackwards from what Spock originally said.

I have not heard back from Mark yet. He may be doing some on hand and in person surveillance.
