Yup that would be the article I was referring to. Hopefully some one with their head not firmly planted way up their a$$ will be happy to point out the stupidity of all this. Trout Unlimited maybe....?
Over the weekend the guy that owns Goose Hollow campground below Waterville Valley was on the news squealing like a stuck hog. Seems RT 49 got washed out from Irene and when the heavy machinery had put it back together they had altered the course of the Mad River!
The waterfront camp sites are now on the edge of an empty ravine filled with rocks and narry a drop of water. I know that area well and am a loss as to what they did. Between the banks of Goose Hollow and RT 49 there is not much distance with the river running about down the middle between both. Wouldn't make sense to move the river closer to the road, and they obviously didn't move it closer to the campground. Where the heck DID they move it?
The timber companies are forever building corduroy bridges if they have to run a skidder or a logging truck over a 3 inch wide stream, it's the law. And these guys move the dang river?:wtf:
Here is an article from the Burlington Free Press that will just upset everyome here. I think T-bone mentioned this in another post.
See Yah
