Well yesterday found Nic and i hititng the local brook nice and early to chase after some brookies , the other rivers around were high due to the rain but the brooks seemed perfect . This brook is pretty much right in busy area but you would never know it was there , many people probably pass over it everyday and do not notice it ..... The water was very clear and the brookies a bit harder to fool but we did fool a couple many lost few caught ... Nic was the man on tis trip i think he got 6-7 and i ended up with 2.

Then the 2nd part of our day found us with our daughters on a diffrent brook i think one brook trout was landed but that wasn't what is was all about we had a blast and i think the girls did too. we took many pics and enjoyed each others company was great day .

 Ziggy,

I had a fun time.  It was nice to get out.  I'll add some pictures, I hope nobody gets upset at the sight of worm fishing!

Sweet pics Nic... I doubt they would be upset how could they be look at how cute she looks with her dora the explorer rod and can of worms we dug up before heading down.... she was the only one to land a fish on the trip Smile many more of these brook with in 20 min of us.    Crazy how close it is to everything and it barel ever gets fished perhaps thats why they are so fat.... I have only heard of a few guys that fish it in the spring while they wait out the hig flows of the rivers ...

The Brookie has some sweet colors , all of mine were real silvery ..... perhaps next sat. we could do it again maybe a diffrene brook or try the river it may come down good if we don;t get any rain.....

Nice!  That is what it is all about.  Enjoying the beauty of nature and paying it foward to the kids.

Maybe we could do another trip Zig.  I'd love to ahng with you and NIc.  I certainly wouldn't mind hanging with the kids either.

Great pics by the way!

There is nothing like fishing with family...My youngest daughter liked to fish trout in smallish streams

She had patience and never retained a brook trout.   Now, when she fishes, she fishes the Bow river in Alberta.

Not sure if I am jealous or not...

My wife and I used to fish together a fair amount until she started catching more and larger fish than me.

Then I started leaving her home....If the truth were told, the reason she eased off on fishing was when the girls were born.

Unfortunately, when she eased away from the fishing...she quit tying flies as well.

Happy Fishing and Tying
