That is a real shame. But it will all work out in the long run. If the stream can produce fish like that it will continue to do so in the future.

Nature is amazing . I am sure the fish will respond nicely .Did anybody notice if the streams have been altered at all ? When we had high water this year they had to open the dam letting out more water then normal and washed out and changed direction of the stream. Curious if the high water there did any damage in that way. Dave V
Not sure of the answer there Dave. Next time I am up in the mountains I will see what the high water did.

I'd be willing to bet many rivers and streams have cut new paths and have totally different features than we remember from even just a week ago.
I wondered how the fish would handle a flood liek that, and it is sad that such a beautiful trout ended up laying in the grass as the water receded leaving it as a casualty on its retreat. I would have rather that soemone got to fight it for ten minutes by fly rod before it met its dry grave.
Nature has its own agenda and things will level off at some point in the near future.

Too bad the little guy didn't make it mother nature effects all of us .... i hope some made it i am sure they did . i checked my local brook and found some still there which made me happy

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
