Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

This is a good link you have provided here Dave.  Thank you.

I have never paid any attention to trout and salmon until this past year.  But in this past year I have certainly developed the idea that trout fishing has been steadily declining for years.

Much like many things, it will never be like it was in Grandpa's day.  The inevitible question is why?  The easy answer would be people.  Civilizations grow and reap the benefits of local resources all over the world destroying habitat and consuming the animals that lived in it.  Pollution threatens the resources that are currently harbouring wildlife, and there is not about to be a decline in the growth of the human population worldwide unless some unforeseen catastrophe wipes out a massive number somewhere along the line.

Even with all that, there is another sad truth that this article brings forth.  The world is changing and there is nothing we can do about it.  We can merely attempt to preserve the things we love, and hope for the best.  As scary as it is many species of wildlife must adapt to persevere the climate changes or fade away like the many species we see fossilized and encased in glass at the museum.

These are my thoughts on the topic.  So enjoy it while it lasts, because nothing lasts forever.
