This time of year people look for hex hatches to catch big brookies. These are Hexes Or drake mayflies

summer time means Big Flies and Big Fish!!!

Have you ever seen a mayfly (I can't remember the name but its suppose to be the largest of the mayflies doraithy someting like that ) I got to witness a hatch of them on the Missiouri River. They were just huge and the fish of all speices were gorging on them. mostly smallmouth

Not me actuly the best hatch I have ever seen was a caddis hatch. I caught more big fish in three days that most people catch in a whole season. I lost a trophy Land Locked Salmon 6 LBS + on a number 16 caddis and 4.5 lbs tippet. Never again I use flouro carbon tippet now and can use 8 lbs tippet with that size fly now!!! Laughing Out Loud Mr. Green
