Yesterday found me meeting up with a newbie to our sport to show him some of what i have learned over the years and give him some more options of places he could get into some nice trout .  We started out in some small brooks to wait out the mid day hours until we could get down to the bigger river , One that i have never fished , thought it would be fun to try a new piece of water with him. Was Beautiful river and the levels and the temp seemed cool (no thermometer) we found a nice section along the way and fished it with no luck, while walking to our destination i found a situation that had Trout written all over it. Kype I do pay attention Mr. Green, well we mangaed to get back to that spot i reconized as great trout water and fished some i went with the double nymphy and indicator route for a bit   nothing doing ... saw some really small surface activity so went to my dry/nymph set up and quickly was on some fish, i think due to the fact i paid attention again when fishing with Kype and instanlty knew what the trout were doing sure enough caddis pupa to the rescue hooked into 3 very nice rainbows but didn't manage to get them to hand? oh well not sure what the problem was just wasn't ment to be ? one broke me off which i can only think my line was fraid or it was a poor knot? oh well was nice to see some new water and get into some fish,  was even better  to figure out what they were doing and actually get some action, I am learning its great fun Smile Fishing

Nice report Ziggy.  Awesome photo's . Love the pool below the waterfall. Do you fish barbless ?  Dave V

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Couldn't stand it LOL, i went back to the bigger river i was at the day before,  last night , lol was feeling discouraged due to the fact i didn't land any of the trout the night before, got on the river about 5 pm and walked a ways further down river to the spot i was supose to go the night before but never went far enough , Good thing my friend Nic was there and showed me where he intended me to fish .. I stuck to the nymps ,  ran a BH  Wooly bugger i tie, nothing special just peacock herl with olive mailbou tail ,dark green hackle......Kicks butt on all trout  species Smile  i tied smaller stonefly off bottom Due to all the stonefly shells? (not correct term?) But i am not down with all the lingo just yet Smile  and we started fishing fast white water pools 1st pool bam fish on small 8-10" bow was great to actually land a fish ..... continued to fish this section for couple of hours 2nd fish another beautiful fish this time a 8-10 brown beautiful colors he was in a large pool that dumped into many smaller pools . After catching that fish i turned around and saw this little pool where water was dumping in fast , i cast over to it and not even sure my fly hit the water was on this time bit bigger fish could see right away this was a Brown and have some awesome colors would guess 12-14" not huge but so pretty , we fished up stream and i got into another rainbow much the same size as the bigger brown 12-14" this fish was beat up some but very strong fighting , i did notice these rainbows were very silvery? guessing due to the clear water ? all in all was great few hours on a new to me river ... was great to go to new place and have some luck .....

I wish i had pics to share but you'll have to take my word for it was raining cats and dogs when we arrived and left the cameras in the car ... hard to justify taking a $1000. camera out in the rain its bad enough i bring it fishing at all, but it takes some great photos... i have to invest in a smaller waterproof model  soon .... as everyone knows money is a bitch LOL so whe the time comes i will pick up something more suitable then my nikon for the rivers and streams Smile

Hey who is that Ugly SOB in the pics?  Oh shoot I guess that'd be me....  I had a blast with you Brandon, and I can't wait until the next time.

When the wife is feeling a bit better we can get together for dinner like you suggested.

Thanks!

Theron
