A short resume of the Victoria day long weekend. 20-23 May.

The school bus disgorged my Grandson Friday afternoon just in time for him to help load the gear into the car.

A quick bite and supplied with emergency rations we departed for the little trailer on the Little Southwest Miramichi.

After an hours driving I was asked how much further..I responded with "it is just a step"....Havn't we all heard that before.

Another hour of driving and we were there to officially open the trailer for the Summer..

By the time we were organized

Friday was shot. Saturday was cold and windy but we went fishing anyway. We were after a few

river trout but two factors

were against us.  Water was a few inches too high and the smelt run was not quite over. Therefore the trout had full

stomachs. We got one trout and had a couple of long distance releases.src<img src=rig link:0 alt:0 linksrc:disp" title="srcSurprisedrig link:0 alt:0 linksrc:disp" style="width:600px;height:400px;border:none;" />

This photo I just could not resist...I called it the young and the old.

Saturday evening was warm...Went to bunk with the fan running. Then the rain struck and the temperature dropped..

. Was notlong changing over to the heater. Sunday moved us to a different pool. Managed to capture 2 more trout.

Went to a greasy spoonfor Sunday dinner....We both were ill for several hours after.,,,Lesson learned.

..Not to eat there again. Packed up early Monday morning and headed home.

The trout were not huge...but the 3 filled the pan.

Hay Old ManGramps

Stephen I think you are losing it.  You posted this under New/Old Intro's forum and I have moved it to the Fishing Report forum.  Hope you don't mind me doing that, but the forum you posted it in was not correct.  I see you read the Help Read the F**KIN Manual file for posting pictures.  You could have done the pictures several ways as the Help topic shows.  I really think the easiest way is to use the Attachment option of the forum to upload then use the File tag to show them.

Now to your trip, very nice, and you did not get into any of those big fish that can be in that river this time of year.  How did they eat??

See Yah

Thanks

Lee

 Hi Lee

Durned internet gets more confusing each day...I may have to go back to using a pen and licking

stamps...But then with a Canadian mail strike looming, I may be beat there as well...Life was so

much simpler 50 years ago.( just before I discovered girls.)

Sounds like some good bonding time with the youngster.   Quite the adventure.  Good to hear and see you were able to land a couple trout. Better then the old skunk a roo.  Crazy weather your having up there. We went from 50's to 70's then 95 all inn a 3 day period. I am not used to them hot temps . making me feel ill.   Nice to see photo's of fish going on Lee's site once again keep em coming. Dave v

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Stephen glad you were able to get out with your grandson and the fact you caught fish is just great.
