Would anybody be willing to divulge where I can fish in the Rangeley Maine area to target brooktrout/wild brooktrout?  I have never fished there but I have seen some beautiful pictures of brooktrout being landed in that area.  I am not interested in lake fishing, but river/stream/creek bodies of water.  I do not have a lot of experience fly fishing NH and or ME.  I grew up in the foothills of the Adirondack's, lived on Cape Cod for several years, then Nantucket for several more.  My family and I moved to NH in January, 2010.

Thank you in advance for any insights.

Hi Brook Trout

There are many rivers up there that have wild fish.  The Magalloway, Kennebago and the Rapid River.  If I were you I would invest in a DeLorme Gizzateer for the state of Maine, about $20 to $25, a good investment.  All the rivers are not to hard to get to, the Magalloway the easiest on the section below Aziscohoss Lake.   Right now the water is very high in those rivers and the fishing most likely not good.  Go to my Resource page to get the phone number for the water release line, gives the flow for the Andro system and the Kennebec.  Not sure what else you need, just ask and someone will answer you.

See Yah

Thanks

Lee

P.S.  Post and avatar for yourself, its easy go to My Account and you can do it there.
