How is the ice in the rivers doing.  I know tomorrow is opening day for the spring season, how much longer before the ice is gone.

Thanks

Lee

Hi Lee

I haven't been up to the Miramichi yet, however all the reports seems to indicate that the Main Southwest is free and clear with a few fish being caught especially around Blackville.

Ya Bill where have you been ?  Good to see you back.  So now that the rivers are free flowing do you think you will be getting out soon ?

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

My first committed fishing trip will be to Big Oromocto Lake on May 01, trolling for LLS with my fishing buddy Laurie (guy with no short on that kisses grilse in my photo album) We'll fish there for the day then re-evaluate whether to stay or go back home and try South Oromocto lake for brookies.  We are off to GLS from 5-7 May, hoping that the wind will stay down to a manageable level.  Not sure after that.

Another question for the boys up north.  I have been looking on Debbie Norton's site "Upper Oxbow" and she is saying that boats have limited out.  Is there a limit on the spring fish you can catch now.  Looks like it may be 10 fish, is this correct.  If so when was this changed??  I remember you could catch and release all the fish you wanted in the spring.

Thanks

Lee

P.S.   Thanks for the link Stephen, may need to put it up on the home page somewhere.

Hi Lee

It is my understanding that 10 black salmon can be hooked and released per day.

But if you retain one(the daily bag limit) then you are done for the day.

How long ago did the 10 fish limit go into effect??  I know if you kill a fish you are done for the day, that's why I never killed a fish in five years of fishing Fishing up there.  I really can't remember getting more then 10 fish a day except for one day in 2000 when I think I hooked and released at least 14 fish.  Other then that day I never got too ten fish.

Thanks for the info Stephen.

Thanks

Lee
