Hello Everyone,

Long time lurker here...

I fish Umbagog for a week every year.  I stay on the remote sites around Sunday Cove.  During the week long trip we usually take the trail system to the rapid a few times and spend a fair amount of time beating up on the smallies in the cove which are usually plentiful.  Last year was an anomoly and the small mouth fishing was poor.

Anyway, there is a small stream which dumps into the back of Sunday cove which is fed from Sunday Pond.  I know that there is an old logging trail that goes from the cove to the pond and I know that the pond holds brookies.  We got turned around in a half hearted attempt last year and ended up going to the rapid.  This year we are determined to fish this pond.  We will go I have my GPS and a map.  I am hoping someone may know this water body or know someone who has fished it.  Allegedly it is accessable from the lakewood camp side as well.

I am not looking to spot burn but I guess I am, I am going here anyway so I am undetered in that respect.  Also due to access i am less concerned about that.  I merely want to know what is the quality of the trail?  Is it over grown to the point of making this expedition a bush whack?  How is the pond access?  Can one wade it or is it best fished with a belly boat because like most new england ponds and lakes the bottom is muck?  What are the hatches like if any?  I am going later in the season, mid Sept so I suspect that hatches are sporadic at best maybe mid morning or mid afternoon when the water warms rather than early and late.  Probably best with streamers and terrestrials and work the outlet.  I also suspect that this water doesn't see much pressure, maybe some folks from Lakewood Capms but not many with the PIR and rapdi right there.  I know the water is not stocked and it is cold and deep.  I think there would be a fair sized population of brookies in there.

I would be very grateful if anyone has any ideas or any onformation or knows anyone who has fished it is does have information.

Thanks for your help.

Doc

Sorry to be so long in replying.  We have been without power for the last 24 hours and now I can get back to what needs to be done.

As for the pond I have no idea about it.  I looked it up on google map and it should be doable.  Have no idea of wading the shour or if you need a boat or tube.  Maybe others on here may know and will respond.

Thanks

Lee
